# 1. One of the reasons I became a sleep consultant is because literature available to parents about pediatric sleep is too often opinion-based and conflicting. It often leaves parents more confused about what to do and at times feeling hopeless. I save parents the stress of sifting through the literature and determining what is going to be the best fit for their family’s needs. My goal is to empower parents with solid, evidenced-based information that fits the developmental age of their child.
#2. Sleep is about relationship, and each child has a different experience around sleep. Plans for helping children need to be tailor-made, taking into consideration parenting philosophy, child development, attachment, and temperament.
#3. Millette Method trained sleep consultants help you navigate through all the nuances that come up while making sleep changes for your family and do not simply follow one specific book or method. Instead, we stay abreast of peer-reviewed literature and base our decisions on what is current in sleep science, attachment theory, and child development.
#4. Parenting a child around sleep has a lot of moving parts. Millette Method trained consultants help parents decipher what plan is going to work best for their child. We are there each step of the way to help you understand why a plan is or is not working and what to tweak in order to help your child find success.
#5. Having a good sleep consultant can help silence the inner critic and self-doubt parents often feel when making choices around sleep. We help parents distinguish between signals of need and attention-getting behaviors, allowing parents to confidently tap into their internal parental wisdom.
#6. Instead of feeling defeated, parents feel renewed, confident, grateful, and rested!
